Venus in the 12th House - Devotion and Delirium
The 12th House of Astrology relates to isolation, sacrifice, the hidden and locked away, monasteries, asylums and prisons; and carves a path of darkness for luscious and lovestruck Venus. Those born with their natal Venus in the 12th House confront profound subconscious difficulties in relationships and may experience life themes associated with partner abuse or trauma, destructive self sacrifice and vague romantic longings. The 12th House waters dissolve everything it touches, and love can shatter all obstacles here; a-washing these individuals with unique access to the collective unconscious and the emanation of the universal heart. This placement also indicates the inheritance of family karmic energies that must be worked through by the individual, and the past of life use of one’s beauty or wealth for dishonest manipulation.
Venus in the 12th House tend to be quite spiritually engaged and generous in their empathy, generosity and sense of charity. Industries surrounding social work, nursing, counselling and social betterment are attractive to these individuals; where the urgency to be of service cultivates a life of incredible giving. The 12th House is understood to be the ‘house of suffering’, and indicates qualities that can be regarded as our ‘special needs children’. Venus here suggests relationships with partners who are unavailable, illusionary, committed or clandestine; coupled with a severe unconscious urgency for validation and love. These individuals may remain in hostile or unfavourable relationships for fear of solitude, escapism or as a means to fill a cutting emptiness within. A destructive repression of their romantic feelings and an intrinsically private nature make it exceedingly difficult for people to break down the walls of Venus here. Lovers here may just hold razorblades under their tongue and wait for them to kiss them.
Venus in the 12th House experience love connections that are profoundly deep and unwavering, drawing particles from every world. This placement indicates It is possible for these individuals to have felt or known at some point they were protected by Venus as a guardian angel, or feel they are being unconditionally watched over; where magic is found in the most hidden of places. The threat of love addiction threatens here, as well as a possible uncontrollable indulgence in all of life’s pleasures. Venus in the 12th House may view themselves as somewhat inaccessible in love, and feel the plexiglass effect when it comes to developing relationships. There is a profound longing for intimacy with the divine here; and as the 12th House washes away the ego, the spirit and heart of Venus remain pumping, circulating the universal love through the cosmic bloodstream.
